Gurdip Singh
Gurdip Singh studied in Anglo Chinese School and graduated from Singapore University with a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) in 1975. He started his professional career with Arthur Andersen & Co before moving to join Molex Inc (a US MNC) as the Singapore Financial Controller. Over the next 15 years with Molex (before setting up Crescendas MEC), he worked in various management positions in Singapore, Japan, USA and Thailand ranging from Regional Financial Director to Chief Executive of its Thai operations and gained extensive international exposure.
Gurdip Singh was President & CEO of Crescendas MEC Group since its inception in 1992 till 2012, when its business was sold to a SGX listed company. Over the 20 years, he set up manufacturing plants in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and China. Crescendas MEC received 5 consecutive Enterprise 50 Awards from 1998 to 2002.
Gurdip Singh is also active in local community organizations. He is currently the Chairman of Singapore Khalsa Association Board of Trustees, Advisor of Central Sikh Gurdwara Board, Singapore and was the Chairman of Sikh Welfare Council, Singapore from 2015-2021. He also chaired the World Schools Debating Championship in Singapore in 2002; the first time this mega event was held in Asia.
His contributions to the community and nation building were recognised when he was featured in a SG50 book published by the Young Sikh Association, Singapore, entitled “Singapore at 50 - 50 Sikhs and Their Contributions”, which was launched by Mr Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Singapore on 28th November 2015.
