Jack Greatrex is Assistant Professor of Urban History based at Singapore Management University’s (SMU) College of Integrative Studies (CIS). His research interests lie at the intersections of urban, environmental, medical, and multispecies histories of the British Empire in Asia and the South Pacific. His projects include histories of Singapore/Malaya as insect-exporting hubs, the infrastructural assemblages of forests-water-oil-and-prisons in Hong Kong, and avian zoonosis and counter-insurgency warfare along the East Asian-Australasian Flyway.
