Sustainable Living

Sayd Randle is an Assistant Professor of Urban Studies at Singapore Management University and a Fellow at SMU's Urban Institute. Trained as an environmental anthropologist, her research uses the tools of ethnography and the lens of political ecology to explore processes of urban environmental change. Broadly focused on climate adaptation and mitigation efforts, she studies how attempts to rework critical infrastructural systems transform material flows and urban lives, rearranging labour and power across the extended metropolitan landscape in the process.

George Wong is Assistant Professor of Sociology (Education) at the School of Social Sciences at the Singapore Management University, where he is the Coordinator of the Global Asia second major programme. 

Heng Wang is a professor at SMU Yong Pung How School of Law. He was a professor at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, co-directing important research centres. He received major grants and awards, including Australia’s research leader in international law by The Australian. 

Andrew Phang is Distinguished Professor of Law as well as Senior Judge at the Supreme Court of Singapore. In addition to almost 300 book and journal publications (many of which have been cited in articles and books), he has also authored close to 400 judgments.

Professor Sun Sun Lim is Vice President, Partnerships & Engagement and Lee Kong Chian Professor of Communication and Technology at the Singapore Management University. She has extensively researched the social impact of technology, focusing on technology domestication by families, future of work and AI ethics.

Rencheng Wang joined SMU in 2019. He has previously taught at the University of Queensland and University of Melbourne in Australia. He received his Ph.D. from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Rencheng has a broad range of interests in research at the intersection of accounting and finance. His works have been published in the Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Economics, and The Accounting Review. Learn more about Rencheng at https://acrcwang.github.io/.

Dr Wang Jiwei has over 15 years’ industry and academia experience in corporate reporting, data & analytics and equity valuation. He is one of the key faculty at SMU who developed the new data & analytics curriculum in the accounting and finance domain. He is also the founding program director of the MSc in Accounting (Data & Analytics) program. Dr Wang has been doing applied research on international accounting standards, corporate governance, and securities regulation.

Dr. Jacinth Tan received her PhD in Social-Personality Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2016. She then received the START Overseas Postdoctoral Fellowship and pursued a two-year postdoctoral training in psychophysiology at the University of California, San Francisco, Center for Health & Community. Jacinth studies how social class relate to intrapersonal, interpersonal and health-related processes, and how these processes vary with sociocultural contexts.
