Digital Transformation

Shaphan completed his PhD in Management from the University of California, Irvine in 2021. Prior to his doctoral studies, he was an equity research analyst at an investment bank and a Lecturer of Accounting at Singapore Management University. Shaphan’s research examines the effect of tax policies on corporate decision making.

Dr Lou Yun joined SMU in 2017. Prior to joining SMU, she taught the Executive, MBA, and Master programs at HEC Paris. She received her PhD in Accounting from London Business School. Her research focuses on the intersection between debt contracting and corporate disclosure. She has published in the Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, and Management Science, among others.

Benjamin is a Lecturer of Accounting, Director of Student Matters, and SMU-X Academic Champion at the School of Accountancy, Singapore Management University. He received his Master of Science with Distinction in Business Analytics from the Surrey Business School, University of Surrey in 2017 having previously graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy from Singapore Management University. He is also a Chartered Accountant of Singapore.

Clarence joined Singapore Management University (SMU) in 2016, after receiving his PhD from Nanyang Technological University. His research examines (i) judgment and decision making and (ii) digital transformation in accounting. Prior to joining SMU, Clarence led the Asia-Pacific Corporate Research team at Jones Lang LaSalle (Corporate Solutions). He has also held various accounting and finance appointments with Deutsche Bank, Barclays Capital, and the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.

Richard Crowley joined Singapore Management University in 2016.  He received his PhD in Accountancy from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and received Bachelor's degrees in Accountancy, Finance, and Theoretical Mathematics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2012.  His research examines financial accounting using both archival and analytical methods.  Much of his archival work deals with large sets of unstructured data (e.g., textual disclosures) using high-powered computing algorithms to address accounting issues that a
