Sustainable Living

Dr Ishani Mukherjee joined SMU in 2018. Her expertise include policy formulation and design; environmental and natural resource policy and management; policy tools for renewable energy and energy efficiency, particularly in Asia. She received her PhD in Public Policy from NUS, with a concentration on Environmental Policy and was the recipient of the World Future Foundation PhD Prize for Environmental and Sustainability Research in 2014.

Elvin Lim is the founding Dean, College of Integrative Studies, Professor of Political Science, and the Director of the Wee Kim Wee Centre. He specialises in presidential and executive politics, political communication, political development, political thought, and constitutional law. He is the author of The Lovers Quarrel: The Two Foundings and American Political Development (Oxford University Press, 2014) and The Anti-Intellectual Presidency: The Decline of Rhetoric from George Washington to George W.

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Dr Norman Li joined SMU in 2008, coming from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was an Assistant Professor of Individual Differences and Evolutionary Psychology. Prior to his psychology career, Dr. Li worked in investment consulting and taught economics and finance in Chicago. Trained in experimental social psychology and evolutionary perspectives, Dr Li is a foremost expert on human mate preferences and mating.

Jimmy obtained his Bachelor of Accountancy (1st Class Honours) from Nanyang Technological University in 2002, Masters of Science and Ph.D. in Accounting from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University in 2010 and 2011 respectively. Prior to his doctoral program, Jimmy was a Tax Associate at PwC Tax Consulting Services and a Lecturer of Accounting at SMU. He enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with his family.

Professor Lily Kong is the fifth President of Singapore Management University (SMU), the first Singaporean to lead the University, and the first Singaporean woman to serve as President of any university in Singapore. She was previously Provost of SMU from 2015 to 2018 and, before joining SMU, held senior leadership roles at the National University of Singapore.

A social and cultural geographer by training, Professor Kong is internationally recognised for her work on urban transformation and social and cultural change in Asian cities.

Chandran Kukathas is Professor of Political Science at Singapore Management University. He was Dean of SMU’s School of Social Sciences and Lee Kong Chian Chair Professor of Political Science from 2019 to 2024 . Prior to joining SMU, he was Head, Department of Government at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2015 to 2019.
