Course(s) Taught in SMU
Dr Kenneth Tan is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychology in the School of Social Sciences at Singapore Management University. He obtained his BS and MA from the National University of Singapore, and his PhD from Purdue University (USA). He was also the recipient of the Singapore Ministry of Education Early Career Award. His field of research is in social-personality psychology, with a focus on examining cognition, emotion, motivation and behavior in the context of close, interpersonal relationships. Tan Seow Hon is a legal philosopher with current research interests in human flourishing, the legal profession, relationships in the digitalized world, and the transformative potential of law to shape societal ethos. She recently completed a project examining Singapore’s narrow mindset of success and how a narrative of flourishing to support new laws and policies can move the nation towards a more salutary and sustainable future. Eugene K.B. Tan is associate professor of law at SMU’s Yong Pung How School of Law. His inter-disciplinary research interests include constitutional and administrative law, the government and politics of Singapore, the regulation of ethnic conflict, and the ethical and policy framework for artificial intelligence. Eugene regularly teaches in the law, business, and social sciences schools at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive education levels. Dr Themin Suwardy is an Associate Professor of Accounting (Practice) with the SMU School of Accountancy. Before his current appointment as Associate Provost (PGP Education), he was Dean of Postgraduate Professional Programmes (2016-2021), looking after SMU portfolio of Masters programme with an annual intake of over 1,400 students.
