Dr Alwyn Lim is Associate Professor of Sociology at Singapore Management University and Lee Kong Chian Fellow for 2022-2024. His research examines the impact of globalization on organizations and institutions, of which he has published on the rise and diffusion of corporate responsibility frameworks. His current interests include new directions in capitalism, higher education in developmental states, and the political economy of Singapore.
Jimmy obtained his Bachelor of Accountancy (1st Class Honours) from Nanyang Technological University in 2002, Masters of Science and Ph.D. in Accounting from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University in 2010 and 2011 respectively. Prior to his doctoral program, Jimmy was a Tax Associate at PwC Tax Consulting Services and a Lecturer of Accounting at SMU. He enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with his family.
Professor Lily Kong is the fifth President and the first Singaporean to lead Singapore Management University. She is also the first Singaporean woman to serve as President of any university in Singapore. She holds the Lee Kong Chian Chair Professorship of Social Sciences, with a courtesy appointment at the College of Integrative Studies. She was previously Provost of SMU (2015-2018). Before that, she held various senior management roles at the National University of Singapore.
Chandran Kukathas is Professor of Political Science at Singapore Management University. He was Dean of SMU’s School of Social Sciences and Lee Kong Chian Chair Professor of Political Science from 2019 to 2024 . Prior to joining SMU, he was Head, Department of Government at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2015 to 2019. He also served as the Chair of Political Theory in the Department of Government and as Warden of High Holborn and Grosvenor House Halls of Residence at LSE.
