Dr. Rand Hirmiz is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Singapore Management University. She earned her PhD in Philosophy from York University (Toronto, Canada) in 2024, and an MA in Philosophy from McMaster University (Hamilton, Canada) in 2018. Her research focuses on the intersection of AI ethics and healthcare, with a particular interest in how artificial intelligence can be integrated into medicine without compromising the core values of medical practice. Her work has been published in AI and Ethics and Philosophy and Technology. Dr Sarah Shi Hui Wong is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Singapore Management University. Bridging cognitive and educational psychology, she investigates counterintuitive strategies that improve higher order learning. She pioneered deliberate erring, where people intentionally commit and correct errors in low-stakes contexts for better learning, and studies learning by teaching, another counterintuitive way to harness learning benefits via the act of teaching. Christianna Parr is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at SMU. She completed her PhD in Political Science at the University of Washington, where she was the Duck Family Graduate Fellow at the Center for Environmental Politics and affiliated with the Center for Statistics and the Social Sciences. Prior to joining SMU, she taught comparative politics, world politics and political methodology at the University of Washington, where she received the departmental teaching award.
Dr. Ahmadreza Mostajabi is an Assistant Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at Singapore Management University. He completed his PhD in Strategy and Entrepreneurship at London Business School. His research focuses on areas such as innovation, competitive dynamics, and platform strategy, with an emphasis on how firms adapt their strategy in response to changes in competition and other market dynamics.
