Sustainable Living

Fan, Haoqing Grace joined SMU in 2020. She obtained her PhD in Accounting at INSEAD, MPAcc degree at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Bachelor's degree in Accounting at Sun Yat-Sen University. Her research interests include the role of disclosure and accounting regulation in the public sector, pension accounting, and accounting valuation. She is also enthusiastic about conducting multidisciplinary studies between economy/finance and accounting. She has experiences in auditing, banking, and equity research industries.

Dr Cheng Cheng is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Lee Kong Chian Fellow 2022-2024. Her research interests center on gender, family, health, and aging. Her work focuses on understanding the production of social inequality through the lens of the family. She studies how extended family relationships shape gender power dynamics, wealth and income inequalities, and health disparities.

Dr. Liandong Zhang is Professor of Accounting at School of Accountancy at the Singapore Management University. He joined Singapore Management University in 2017 as the Associate Dean (Research) at School of Accountancy. Dr. Zhang graduated from Tsinghua University, Beijing and received his PhD Degree in Accounting from Nanyang Technological University in 2008. He has previously taught at the Concordia University in Canada and City University of Hong Kong. His current research interests include financial reporting quality, corporate governance, and taxation.

Dr Qian Forrest Zhang joined Singapore Management University in 2005. Currently, he is Associate Professor of Sociology and the Associate Dean for Research at the School of Social Sciences. He completed his undergraduate training at Fudan University in Shanghai and obtained a PhD in sociology from Yale University in 2004. His research focuses on China’s agrarian political economy and rural development but extends to a range of other issues in contemporary China, including self-employment, stratification and inequality, social mobility, and family relations.

Dr Zang Yoonseok is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the Singapore Management University.  He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting from the University of California, Berkeley in 2003.  He obtained M.P.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and B.B.A. in Business Administration from Seoul National University. Prior to his graduate studies in the U.S., He was a Junior Economist at the Bank of Korea (Central Bank in Korea). He holds a certificate of CPA in Delaware, U.S.A. 

Dr. Holly Yang is a tenured Associate Professor of Accounting at Singapore Management University, where she focuses on corporate reporting and disclosure issues. Her research employs both traditional and behavioral economic theories to explore unique settings, aiming to make academic accounting research accessible and relevant to practitioners and regulators.

Aidan M Wong is Assistant Professor of Urban Studies (Education), College of Integrative Studies, and Urban Fellow, SMU Urban Institute, Singapore Management University. Trained as an economic geographer, Aidan’s teaching interests span urban cultures, Singapore studies, and food cultures. His research interests are diverse and include urban waste management, circular economy and environmental citizenship; urban heritage and active citizenship; and labour geographies, particularly the informal economy, the gig economy, and youth entrepreneurship.

Dr William Tov completed his doctorate in social and personality psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research focuses on the multilevel processes that underlie well-being. At the macro-level, he is interested in cultural similarities and differences in well-being as well as the societal-level conditions associated with well-being. At the micro-level, he examines fluctuations in emotion, satisfaction, and meaning—and how these fluctuations are influenced by positive personality traits, memory, and social interactions, and life circumstances.

Mr. Sum Yee Loong has specialised in taxation since qualifying as an accountant in the UK. He has over 25 years of experience in Singapore taxation. 
 
Mr. Sum has substantial experience serving multi-national companies and local corporate clients including financial institutions, providing advisory tax services to these corporate clients.
